Chris Brown talks Rihanna beating: ‘I tried to show her how sorry I was’

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Backstage And Audience

Chris Brown rarely talks to the public about the details his violent 2009 attack on Rihanna or their relationship troubles.  During a recent interview with Hollywood heavyweight Ryan Seacrest, Brown opened up about the infamous beating and explained his road to redemption with Rihanna.

As fans know, shortly after Brown’s attack on Rihanna, the couple broke up and it wasn’t until last year that Brown and Rihanna reconciled and eventually rekindled their reunion. According to Brown, it took copious amounts of hard work to convince Rihanna to forgive him.

“I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident. That time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful,” said Brown.

Now that the couple has made peace with the past, Brown explains that he and Rihanna try to keep things fun and light when it comes to their relationship.

“It’s still like we’re kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, ‘Lets have candlelight dinner every night.’ I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine,” explained Brown.

Well, Brown’s life may not be completely drama free just yet. It’s commendable that he’s been remorseful and apologetic to Rihanna. And he’s not the only one. Check out some other remorseful abusers below. – nicholas robinson
