In early March, RZA filed a suit claiming he was told by Island Def Jam that “Dark Fantasy,” his 2010 collaboration with Kanye West included an uncleared sample of “Gincyo Watadori,” performed by Meiko Kaji and Teichiku wanted compensation. He alleges that the label falsely made the claim to withhold royalty payments.
