Former superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools Beverly Hall led a pathetic procession of principals, teachers, testing coordinators and others into Fulton County Jail after being indicted by a grand jury in a cheating scandal that rocked the district and drew national attention.
A Fulton County grand jury last week indicted 35 educators from the district and they were ordered to turn themselves in by Tuesday, District Attorney Paul Howard said.
Many were booked on $1 million bond or more, which detractors and suspects’ lawyers called “excessive” and “cruel and unusual punishment.”
