Brian Banks’ story reveals that there is a chance at redemption. At the age of 16, Banks was a highly recruited player from football powerhouse, Long Beach Poly high school in California. But after signing a commitment to play for the USC Trojans, Banks was accused of rape and later convicted.

After serving five years in prison and five years of probation, Banks’ accuser admitted to lying about the incident and attempted to help set him free. On May 12, 2012, Banks was cleared of all charges. But at the age of 27, it appeared as if Banks’ hope of making it to the NFL was over.

However, the Atlanta Falcons have given Banks a second opportunity to achieve his dream of making it to the NFL.

The team signed Banks and are giving him the opportunity to make their 53-man roster.
