Rick Ross now understands that lyrics can have a profound affect. The Miami-based rapper went to Twitter to give another half-hearted apology about a lyric that suggests rape. Rick Ross is likely concerned that his corporate partners (Reebok and Ultra Violet) will discontinue doing business with him because of the lyrics.
On Rocko’s song, “U.O.E.N.O.,” Rick Ross raps, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”
Several groups have protested the lyrics and are calling for Reebok to drop Rick Ross as a spokesperson. Rick Ross has issued several statements and recently took to Twitter to issue another apology.
But will it be sufficient enough to clear his name, or has the media and protestors overreacted?
