Ford steps it up with its SYNC technology

ford-sync

Proving that they can still lead the industry that they had a large part in building, the Ford Motor Company has stepped up their technological prowess with the Ford SYNC – a new touch screen component that allows the driver to reach out and touch someone in a whole new way.  The Ford SYNC system lets you set customizable controls that can be triggered by controls on the car’s steering wheel, and not only that; SYNC comes equipped with voice control.

By simply speaking to your system (in a way that we only used to see in far out science fiction dramas) you can change your radio station, choose a specific song from your CD player and even change the climate inside your ride.  But the Ford SYNC doesn’t stop there – you can also tell your vehicle that you want to make or answer a cellular phone call, and then speak casually (hands free) to the person on the other end of the phone – without ever taking your hands off of the wheel.

In addition to performing basic communication commands and voice-activated entertainment options, you can also have the SYNC pull your customized news feeds — including weather, celebrity news and sports scores.

With this new technology being made available in a number of vehicles in the Ford line, it’s easy to see how the company that first brought us mass-produced vehicles is poised to lead the industry once again. –mark anderson
