Angela Davis

Although Angela Davis was born in Birmingham, Alabama during a time of racial unrest, she was afforded the opportunity to study theology and put her theoretical analysis into practice to effect change within the black community and beyond. Davis’ experiences have taken her from scholar and target on America’s Most Wanted list, to a respected activist, theologian, and author. She continues to examine the pseudo-transformation of legislative policies and practices toward blacks in America and most importantly, the resounding, generational effects it has had on African American identity and consequential family practices.
