An Usher fan was booted out of a taping session of  NBC’s “The Voice” Thursday afternoon after she repeatedly yelled out the superstar’s name from the audience in hopes of getting his attention. According to witnesses in the audience, the 20-something audience member had a whistle that she continued  to blow  for about a minute during filming at NBC studios in Burbank, Calif.

“The woman was blowing her whistle and yelling Usher’s name,” stated an unidentified witness.

Another witness said the woman was “pointing at Usher and yelling, ‘I want you!’ ” over and over again and then  “The security people escorted her out to the street.”

None of the team members where on stage during the outburst and none of the coaches seemed bothered. The incident took place at the end of the first half of the day, right before lunch, so there was no delay in the taping of Monday’s show.

The 33 year-old R&B singer  joined the cast this season along with Shakira to fill in for CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera, both of whom left to work on outside projects.

Catch episodes of “The Voice” on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
