Chicago Bulls pulled off the greatest upset of the 2013 NBA playoffs so far by stealing game 1 from the overwhelming favorites, the Miami Heat, in their own building by the score of 93-86 before a shellshocked home crowd in South Beach.
But it was also the way the Heat lost. Two of the top ten best best players in the league, four-time MVP LeBron James and two-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade, shot an airball and ill-advised 3-pointer on consecutive possessions down the stretch, to help the Bulls — minus their two best players, Derrick Rose and Luol Deng — pull off a seismic upset.
Twitter exploded after the upset, with celebrity fans and sports enthusiasts alike airing out their feelings.
Man was I wrong about the Bulls. Even w/o Deng/Hinrich/DRose, they steal G1 from 4-time MVP who went quiet last 2 1/2 minutes.
