Two of the most controversial rappers in hip-hop appear to have decided to join forces.
Chicago teen rapper Chief Keef has reportedly become the latest addition to Gucci Mane‘s 1017 Brick Squad camp. The details have yet to be announced but Gucci made the announcement via Twitter that he and Keef are now affiliated.
“Chief Keef newest member of Brick Squad 1017 bmg gbe mpa,” Gucci tweeted, following by a confirmation from Chief Keef, who posted an image of Gucci’s new logo for 1017 Glo Gang on his Instagram account, with the hashtag, “#WhatTimeItIs?1017.”
Both Gucci and Keef have had numerous legal troubles over the past year. Keef recently served 60 days in a youth correctional facility in Illinois after it was determined that he violated his probation. Gucci is currently facing assault charges after he was accused of hitting a fan over the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub. The announcement makes Keef one of the better known Brick Squad artists in the aftermath of the departure of longtime Gucci associate Waka Flocka Flame.
The nature of their new association is somewhat unclear; Keef is currently signed to Interscope Records through his own label, Glory Boyz Entertainment. Gucci is signed to Warner Bros.
