Nadine Ellis: This Hollywood thing might work after all

You mentioned how dance came naturally for you at an early age. Did you feel the pressure to get caught up when it comes to your craft as an actor since you got a late start on that part of your life?
You know, I never felt the pressure because I was always working as a dancer. I would dance during the day whether it was on tour or for the Grammys or whatever, and then at night I would just study. So luckily, I never felt the pressure because I was never pursuing it as my sole means of success. I think that allowed me to be more relaxed, and it allowed me to progress more because I never placed that pressure on myself. I took my time with the process and it worked out for me.

Just listening to you, one would think that the journey was easy for you. Was that your reality?
Oh no! There were definitely bumps in the road along the way. That’s just a reality as a human being. You may not move as fast as you want to, but I have always believed this; when you are pursuing what you love though, the struggle is never as hard as it could be.
