Newlyweds Jan Pietrzak, 24, and Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, 26, were the victim of a robbery scheme that turned into a deadly slaying. On October 15, 2008, ex Camp Pendleton Marines Emrys John, then 19; Kevin Cox, then 21; Tyrone Miller, then 21; and Kesaun Sykes, then 22, invaded the Pietrzaks’ home in the French Valley neighborhood of southern Riverside County, Calif. in search of money.
Pietrzak, a sergeant in the Marines and Iraq War veteran, was forced to watch as the men raped his wife before the couple was bound, gagged and shot in the head.
