What’s the meaning behind your stage name?
One day I was watching Paid in Full, [which] happens to be my favorite movie. I was watching it back to back, and I could relate to Ace because he was the only dude in his crew that had a job and was trying to do the right things. On the other side, Mitch is like the big drug dealer. I can relate to both of them and since my zodiac sign is Gemini; they are known to have different personalities, I put the two names together and created Ace Mitch.
When did you know that music was your destiny?
I had a near-death experience back in 2010. Laying in that hospital bed, and experiencing everything that was happening to me makes me feel like I’m here for a reason. The love that I was shown on my previous street anthem single, “Work” and my radio single “High Rise” featuring singer Suede Royale, proved that to me.
What upcoming projects are you working on?
I just finished working with Track Boyz producer J. White on my new single “BAD A–.” It was a huge honor when I was given the opportunity to work with J. White because he is a legend in the industry and his vision is incredible. J. White gave the track an upbeat tempo that allows me to give the same energy that my fans love about my live shows. I’m excited about this new direction and I’m ready to turn up in the clubs this summer.
