Black Music Month: best music moments in movies

musical, Saturday Night Fever Original Motion Picture Sound Track - Lots of Bee Gees

Bee Gees — Of course, disco originated in urban settings, as with most forms of American music. But with the help of the Brothers Gibb (and with acts like Donna Summer and  Chic), the much-maligned music form invaded mainstream America, just as it was about to die out, and revived it on the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever, which quickly became the bestselling album of all time in 1977 (well, until you know who broke the record seven years later). The standout hits included “Night Fever,” “How Deep is Your Love” and, of course, “Staying Alive.” It’s impossible imagining this movie working without the music.
