Houston Astros to host 4th of July fest and parade

The Houston Astros are set to host a 2 day Patriotic Street Fest and Military Parade on Wednesday, July 3rd and Thursday, July 4th following the July 3rd and July 4th Astros vs. Rays independence day game at 7 p.m. The street fest will feature the Budweiser Build-A-Bar, a picnic fare, live music, games, water sports and a Ms. Independence day pageant.

The Houston Astros are also calling out all military personnel to take part a special pregame ceremony on Thursday, July 4th. All military participants must be in uniform to line up at the Minute Maid Park right field gate no later than 12:00 p.m. Each person will be escorted to the baseball field to line the 1st and 3rd base paths for a 20 gun salute and singing of the national anthem followed by a patriotic themed post game fireworks show to close out the evening.


The festival will be held on July 3rd and 4th along Crawford St. from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the parade will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Minute Maid Park cross streets.  Arne’s Texas Size Party Store will give away 10,000 mini US flag to festival and parade attendees on both days.
