The Supreme Court’s decision to strike down DOMA and Prop 8 was a watershed moment for the LGBT community that was felt all around the nation, inspiring many people to go jump the broom. Although not everybody rushed out to get married, many were inspired to open up about their sexuality, including “The Young & The Restless” star Greg Rikaart, who revealed to his fans that he’s gay.
Rikaart, who has played the role of Kevin Fisher since 2003, made the announcement on June 27, the day after SCOTUS’ big decision on same-sex marriage. The soap star tweeted a photo of himself cozying up to a man who is assumed to be his boyfriend.

The soap opera star later tweeted a thank you to his fans for their support, before retweeting a message about coming out from writer and activist Dan Savage.
