Michelle Cessna and family are celebrating the birth of their 13-pounds, 12-ounce baby girl. Addyson Gale Cessna is just over two feet tall. The big baby was born via caesarean section at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital near Pittsburgh, Penn.  Baby Cesna joins the family who already has twin boys, 3, who were also hefty at birth.

Back in May 2013, a California mother gave birth to a 13-pound, 10-ounce baby girl at Whittier Hospital Medical Center, also via c-section.

While both of the baby girls are large by standard, neither baby outweighed the record holding 23-pound, 12-ounces and more than 30 inches long baby boy who was born in Canada back in 1879.

Babies born this big are believed to be this size to do a condition known as “fetal macrosomia.” Usually when a baby is born weighing more than 8 pounds, 13 ounces, this condition can be attributed to maternal obesity and diabetes, among other factors.
