Rapper, producer and entrepreneur, Jay-Z has reportedly changed his name. Well not really a big change; however, Jay, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, has decided to retire the hyphen in Jay-Z, and thus his name shall be printed as “Jay Z.”
Rumors of the change began when Billboard magazine editor Joe Levy tweeted,
Breaking: Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note.

Jay-Z hasn’t confirmed the hyphen drop but if he has, this wouldn’t be the first time Blue Ivy’s dad has changed his name. Remember these lyrics, “Allow me to re-introduce myself, My name is Hov’, OH, H-to-the-O-V … ”
While many celebrities don’t use their birth name as their stage names, some have decided that they want to change their celebrity name, as well. Check out some other celebrities who have changed their name a time or two here.
