Their first album with guitarist/singer/songwriter Joe Walsh proved to be a landmark for the smooth rockers from California. Walsh’s playing gave the band some much-needed heft; they had previously been known for soft, country-influenced pop-rock. And his presence reinvigorated them artistically, with each member turning in strong songs and instrumental performances.
