Atlanta Dream guard/forward Angel McCoughtry has been named a starter for the Eastern Conference for the 2013 Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star game.

The starting lineups were determined by fan voting, with McCoughtry receiving 18,523 votes to finish third among frontcourt players in the Eastern Conference. It marks the second time McCoughtry has been voted to the All-Star Game as a starter, having previously been selected for the most recent All-Star Game in 2011.

McCoughtry currently leads the WNBA in steals (3.5), ranks second in scoring (20.2), fifth in assists (5.0) and 20th in rebounding (5.7), and has led the Dream (10-4) to its best start in franchise history. She was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June after winning the conference Player of the Week award three times in the season’s first four weeks.

McCoughtry led the WNBA in scoring and steals in 2012, averaging 21.4 points and 2.5 steals per game while helping the Dream to its fourth consecutive playoff appearance. She also was the second-leading scorer for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team that won the gold medal in London. The former No. 1 overall pick out of Louisville in 2009, McCoughtry will become the first Dream player to appear in two WNBA All-Star Games.

Joining McCoughtry in the Eastern Conference lineup will be Chicago Sky rookie forward Elena Delle Donne, the leading vote-getter with 35,646 votes, Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings (27,921 votes), New York Liberty guard Cappie Pondexter (18,265) and Sky guard Epiphanny Prince (16,083).

The Western Conference starters will include Los Angeles Sparks center Candace Parker (33,810), Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore (31,635), Phoenix Mercury center Britney Griner (22,185), Mercury guard Diana Taurasi (26,019), and Lynx guard Seimone Augustus (18,454).

By virtue of winning their respective conference titles last season, Indiana’s Lin Dunn will coach the Eastern Conference, and the Western Conference will be led by Minnesota’s Cheryl Reeve.

WNBA head coaches will select the reserves, to be announced on July 23 during the nationally televised game between the Liberty and Fever on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET. Replacement players for injured players will be named by the WNBA president, Laurel J. Richie.

The WNBA All-Star Game will be nationally broadcast on ABC, Saturday, July 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET from Uncasville, Conn.
