Sybrina Fulton says her family is ‘devastated’ by Juror B29’s remarks

Florida man faces murder charges in death of black teen

Sybrina Fulton responds to B29

After the George Zimmerman trial presented a not guilty verdict, the mother of Trayvon Martin released a statement regarding the judges shocking decision. As previously reported, Juror B29 told Robin Roberts that she “fought to the end” to find Zimmerman guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin. According to her however, the state did not provide her enough evidence to do so.

“George Zimmerman got away with murder but you can’t get away from God. And at the end of the day, he’s going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with,” Maddy told Roberts. “[But] the law couldn’t prove it.”

Upon hearing Juror B29’s comments, Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton had the following to say:

“It is devastating for my family to hear the comments from juror B29, comments which we already knew in our hearts to be true. That George Zimmerman literally got away with murder,” said Fulton. “This new information challenges our nation once again to do everything we can to make sure that this never happens to another child. That’s why Tracy and I have launched The Trayvon Martin Foundation to try and take something very painful and negative and turn it into something positive as a legacy to our son.”
