To say that this concert was great is an understatement. The night was aMAZEing! Big ups to Bounce TV for sponsoring a fabulous event!
Ronald Isley opened up the evening and killed it. Serenading the fans with many of his #1 hits from the time he stepped out on stage had us amped from the start. The disadvantage of being the opening act in a concert is that you have a ton of people that show up late and ultimately miss out on a great performance. While some artist may find it difficult to engage with the audience singing to empty seats, not Mr. Isley. Being the professional that he is, the empty seats didn’t shy away from his performance at all. His band rocked the house, and we even had a beautiful solo performance from his wife, Kandy. After a brief pause and wardrobe change, Mr. Biggs appeared on stage and ended their night with a dramatized version of the hit record “Contagious”.
During intermission, the MC of the night was pretty funny. His imitation of the late Bernie Mac was uncanny. We enjoyed his comedic sense of humor, while patiently waiting on Maze ft. Frankie Beverly to take the stage.
At last, the all star band took to the stage and had everyone on their feet. To be able to sing the same songs and the fans continue to support you speak volumes on your character and music. Although Frankie Beverly’s vocal ability isn’t where we would like for it to be, his energized spirit is all we really need. After all, he is 66 years old and has done countless tours, so I give him credit and wish him many blessings for continuing to give a great show. The band played and the crowd sang along to all his classic hits right along with him. The acapella rendition of “Joy and Pain” was priceless and the energy being carried throughout the venue was amazing. To top the night off, as soon as the concert ended the sky lit up with a colorful display of fireworks. Great evening!! –lili
