NYC’s own alternative R&B crooner, Ro James, is the latest artist to be featured in Apple Soho’s Meet the Musician series, as he did earlier last week, Wednesday. The 28-year-old, who’s originally from Jamaica Queens, N.Y., participated in a Q-and-A with radio personality K. Foxx and members of the audience in which he explained his sound, who he is, and where he’s found inspiration.
“I would describe my sound as … It’s rock, it’s soul, it’s country, it’s universal. Basically, any place I’ve been is represented by my sound,” he said.
James then performed an intimate five-song set, which included songs like “Pledge Allegiance” from the Coke EP and his newest single “Lisa” from the Jack EP, the first two installments of his “Coke, Jack, and Cadillac” project.
Fellow artists showed up in support, including Ryan Leslie, Bridget Kelly, Luke James, Olamide Faison, Jade, Wynter Gordon (who hopped onstage to sing along on “Indiana Jones”), and Stacy Barthe.
