Stacey Dean Rambold will only serve 30 days in prison for raping his former 14-year-old student. According to Billings Gazette, Rambold, 54, began having sex with the 14-year-old girl in 2008. But when it was discovered, Rambold was arrested and resigned from his job at Billings Senior High in Billings, Montana.

Three years after the incident, the victim, 17, killed herself due to the stress caused by the rape. However, Judge G. Todd Baugh ignored every critical detail in the case. Judge Baugh told the jury that the victim was “older than her chronological age” and was able to make an educated decision on having sex with her 49-year-old teacher.

It was also discovered that Rambold violated his release by having unsupervised visits with kids. The victim’s mother was outraged and stormed out of the courtroom after the verdict.

Judge Baugh continues to face backlash over his light sentencing and nonsensical remarks regarding the rape victim.
