Reports surfaced this week that Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco was being sued by the estranged wife of a convicted drug dealer who accused Fiasco of hiding at least $9 million dollars of her husband’s money. TMZ reported that Inita Patton had filed suit against the star for helping her husband in his scheme to keep money away from her during their ongoing divorce.

Charles “Chilly” Patton is currently serving a 44-year sentence for his role in a heroin trafficking operation.

Fiasco’s lawyer stated unequivocally that “there are no secret accounts and no illicit instructions.”

In the wake of the reports, Fiasco laughed off the notion that he would be involved in hiding money when he addressed the issue via his Twitter account.
