Man who ate homeless man’s eye and brain with chopsticks and sake apologizes

The homeless Gonzalez’s mutilated body was found in Smith’s childhood home in January 2012. Smith’s cousin, Nicole Rabb, contacted local authorities after he visited her home on Dec. 15, 2011, and uttered that he wanted to “get blood on his hands.” On Dec. 16, he showed up at her home with blood in his clothes, carrying an ax and chopsticks. He confessed that his craving for human flesh had been satiated and he’d “gotten his blood,” by killing Gonzalez with the ax, then beating his face and head so he could consume some of his brain matter and an eye — so he would gain a better understanding of human behavior and to see into the spirit realm, respectively. He feasted on the human flesh at a nearby cemetery where he washed it all down with sake.
