A hair weave and extensions specialist for over 15 years, Crystal Haynes created a much needed product that moisturized natural hair and was shear enough for artificial hair. In an effort to resolve the dry scalp, itch and stress of weaves and extensions, Luxe Therapy Hair Products was birthed. The Luxe Therapy line includes Follicle Food Scalp Treatment and Essential Hair Complex Vitamins.

What inspires you to show at work every day?
I love inspiring people and help them look beautiful.
How did you determine your career path?
I knew that it was something I wanted to pursue at an early age.
What other industries connect to your career choice?
All things beauty, makeup, fashion and hair
Describe the future skill sets that are essential to future business leader and innovators?
I think the goal is to always strive to do more once you’ve accomplished one thing continue on and accomplish as many things as you can towards your craft.
Define innovation methods you apply to your business and life.
The most innovative thing I’ve done today is my creation of the Luxe Therapy Scalp Soother. I’m so fortunate than so many people are embracing the product and I definitely think it was something that we need it and I’m so glad so many people agree.
Describe goal setting methods you use and how do you evaluate you success?
I just take one thing at a time and put my all into it until that task is completed.
Who do you consider your peers in you field and a few that are great examples you can get support and best practices?
There are so many people in the hair industry that I admire. There’s just so many doing so many great things to move our industry forward.
Name you favorite role models for success in two industries?
I love Carol’s Daughter’s Lisa Price. I love the business model and the products; it seems to be such a positive company and I would love to model Luxe Therapy after it.
Names a book that changed how you saw life and you recommend to others.
I’m currently reading a book call the Alchemist and it’s really starting to help me see things with more in-depth focus.
Describe why life-long learning is important to you.
I think the minute that you think you know everything you emotionally die because there’s much to learn in this life.
Describe the voice of success that you hear in your head.
When I made the decision to start Luxe Therapy, I was very nervous but I knew that it was something that was needed and instead of waiting for someone else to come up with a concept. I decided to do it myself. I’ve been through a lot and I’ve learned so much and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow.
Technology plays what role in your daily life?
Thank goodness for tablets and cell phones. Luckily, there are so many mobile tools to allow us to do the things that we need to do so that we can multitask. I can operate my Luxe Therapy business from the salon and it actually helps me to be much more productive than if these tools were not in place. My website is www.luxetherapy.com.
What’s your vacation spot?
To date, my favorite vacation spot has been Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is so culturally upbeat yet relaxing at the same time.
If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
As cliché as it may sound, prejudice. I wish we could just take the time to know each other on an individual level instead of assuming that we know what people would do based on the nationality that they are
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I’m so disorganized. I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head and I’m always doing so many things I really wish I was more organized but I am working on it.
