Jim slacks off on his parenting
As Chrissy feared, Jim takes a laid-back approach when it comes to parenting Pudie, leaving her to tend to Pudie and get him up in the morning. And when the two boys are tasked with planting 50 flowers in the garden, Jim schools Pudie on how to stay on Chrissy’s good side by doing all of his chores, but Jim and Pudie, ironically, only end up planting three or four of the flowers. Jim bribes Pudie into telling Chrissy about the lazy garden work. When Chrissy talks to Pudie about his responsibilities, she learns that Jim is trying to have Pudie take over all of his chores. Chrissy knows that Jim’s heart is in the right place, but she questions his work ethic.
