There were six reported incidents of graffiti at Vassar College attacking black and transgender students. The offensive homophobic and racist messages spray painted on dorm room doors across campus ranged from: “Hey Tranny. Know Your Place” and “Avoid Being B—-es” to “F— N——”

A transgender student, Genesis Hernandez, a junior at the school and lead complainant who headed the Bias Incident Response Team is alleged to be one of the graffiti culprits.

The school’s director of media relations told MailOnline that two of the six incidents link back to Hernandez, who’s since left the school, and another unnamed student.

Vassar College president Catharine Hill tells the media outlet in an email: “It is our unfortunate duty to report that two Vassar students have admitted responsibility for creating a number of recent bias and hate-speech messages in public spaces on campus. They also falsely reported these as anonymous messages. Sadly, our community has been deeply hurt by these actions.”
