How to cope after a breakup during the holidays

lonely at christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly! Well that is what we all are told. But what if your man or your woman leaves you weeks into the season? What do you do? How do you handle this? Let me give you a little advice.

Remember the hit song by The Emotions,”What do the lonely do for Christmas?”

I recently had a good friend girl contact me in tears. Her man of three years left her during the season to be jolly. She could not understand why and he really never gave a clear reason. So I am going to tell you what I told her.

Cry! Have a glass of wine! Go for a walk! Whatever you do don’t call or contact that person again! Next pull yourself together and remember the person you were before he or she came into your life. You are still that person. It’s like the old saying goes. What would you do if I was not here? Think of it that way. You were fine before that person and you will be fine again. Just as time goes on and you have to go to work, you are destined to meet another that will bring your smile back.

Only if you keep going like time

Look for things to do outside of your home that you shared with him or her. And if you were the person that was put into the season cold weather, get up and get out and do something. Meet up groups are the way to go. Your setback now is only a greater comeback for later.
