Was this a foul or a good non-call?

As expected, drama and intrigue dominated the ending of the the Indiana Pacers-Miami Heat early-season showdown in Miami. The Pacers’ Paul George believed he was fouled by the Heat’s LeBron James in the closing seconds of the game that, for the second time this year, went down to the wire.

King James, to the surprise of no one, led a comeback from double digits in the fourth quarter by passing to the long-range sharpshooter Ray Allen, who put the Heat up 97-94 with just seconds remaining. Lebron-fouls-paul-george-meme-3-600x600

George tried to answer and send the game into overtime by coming off a pick to create separation from the trailing James and throw up a desperation buzzer-beater triple (above, right). James appeared to at least put his hands on George and foul him. Others, including ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith, believe that George tried to flop and/or create the appearance of a foul. Regardless of the actuality of the situation, the shot was way off and enabled the Heat to escape with a win and tie the regular-season series at one game apiece.

The resulting play spawned a litter of hilarious memes about the final few seconds. Check them out below.
