California woman beaten to death outside club for getting in the way of photo

Kim Pham
Kim Pham was beaten outside of club for accidentally walking in front of a camera.

When Kim Pham went clubbing this past Saturday night, by all accounts she was having a great time with friends at The Crosby in Santa Ana, Calif. But when she stepped outside and accidentally walked in front of a camera while a group was posing for a photo, it cost her dearly.

The group  got into a heated argument with Pham’s friends because of the mistake and a fight ensued. During the fight, Pham was beaten unconscious with an object. Pham was later declared brain-dead and removed from life support. She died on Tuesday. The Chatham University graduate and aspiring journalist was well loved by her friends.

A memorial  of flowers and cards and candles is growing steadily outside the club where she was attacked. There was cellphone footage of the fight and based on that footage police arrested a 20-year-old unidentified woman. Law enforcement is still seeking four Latino suspects in the case; two men and two women. A $5,000 reward has been offered by friends of Pham for information leading to the arrest of the remaining suspects.
