Ever since Towanda Braxton began dating Porsha Williams’ ex-husband, Kordell Stewart, fans have not been shy at all about criticizing Braxton for going out with Stewart. Not so surprisingly, Braxton’s sister, Tamar, has a strong opinion of her own about the budding romance and recently told her sister that she doesn’t approve of Stewart.
The sisters talked about the subject on a recent episode of “Bethenny,” after host Bethenny Frankel asked Braxton to give some details about her romance with Stewart.
“He’s a really nice guy,” Braxton said. However, Tamar interjected and gave her sister a piece of her mind about Stewart.
“Lies! I mean, I wouldn’t consider him a ‘catch’. You know what I’m saying? No shade, no shade, no shade. And this is not milkshake right now. This is all, based upon, you know, what we all saw on the show. You know, she couldn’t go nowhere, she couldn’t do nothing, you know, it’s not cute. Sorry!” Tamar said.
However, Braxton wasn’t too fond of her sister’s words and tried to defend Stewart.
“It’s a show….What I’m saying is, you also don’t know Kordell. You don’t know exactly what happened. I don’t know what actually happened in their marriage. So, that was just a one-sided situation. He wasn’t on the show. So she was telling her side of the situation. I don’t know. I don’t care. He’s just a really nice guy, to me and he’s a great dad. Quite often, people don’t understand, that when you put everything tumultuously like that on television it affects the children,” said Braxton.
Frankel then brought up the rumors that Stewart is gay, to which Tamar responded that she didn’t want to label him anything without knowing for sure what his sexuality is.
“I heard that, but you know, I don’t like to you know, call nobody or give ‘em a crown, meaning I don’t wanna call nobody no queen, if I don’t know. You know what I’m saying? I don’t know that,” said Tamar.
Well, it’s true that only Stewart and Williams know what really happened in their marriage. But it’s also true that we have to see a bit of their home life on camera and, from what we saw, Tamar may not be too far off the mark about the dysfunction in Stewart’s former marriage.
