Cocktails or mocktails …

It won’t hurt to turn down that offer of a glass of wine or a stiff drink. Remember, your behavior when you’re inebriated may negatively impact your business relationship. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to turn down your colleague’s invitation to go to happy hour. Here are a few “mocktails” or de facto cocktails that will fool the savviest drinker.

Pour lemon-lime soda and ginger ale into a collins glass with ice cubes and add a dash of grenadine. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and slice of lime.

Fill a highball glass with a dark cola and ice. Garnish with a lime slice.

virgin pina colada

Virgin Piña Colada

2 oz. coconut cream
1.5 oz. crushed pineapple
1 oz. pineapple juice
1/4 cup crushed ice
1 maraschino cherry

Fill blender with ice cubes. Add coconut cream, crushed pineapple and pineapple juice. Puree. Serve, garnished with a slice of pineapple and maraschino cherry.

Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri

Classic Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri

Blend a few ice cubes, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and fresh strawberries together to taste. Pour into a cocktail glass with a stem. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and add whipped cream.

Virgin Cosmopolitan

Virgin Cosmopolitan

Mix equal parts Rose’s sweet lime juice, cranberry juice and orange juice to taste. Garnish with a twisted lemon peel and place in a martini glass.
