Rolling out spoke with Rev. Al Sharpton regarding Florida Special Prosecutor Angela Corey. Rev. Sharpton was asked “Does Angela Corey and her prosecutorial team need to be replaced?”:
“As far as Angela Corey is concerned I absolutely feel that I have no confidence in the ability of that office. They blew the Zimmerman case which was a clear case, and I think this case [Michael Dunn] was even clearer. Their only excuse may be we can’t get around this Stand Your Ground law, well then they need to say that because either their incompetent or their unable to get around this law. But either way this is the second major case and I think that we can’t sit around and allowing ourselves to be in this position. Again I think we put every young person in this country at risk particularly young black people at risk with these verdicts. Because the signal it sends is that people can shoot who they want and then say If I was under threat I can murder a person, Mind you now Michael Dunn said in this case said that these young men had a gun and that Jordan Davis had a gun and no gun was ever found and no one else said they ever saw a gun.”
