Fresh on the heels of the success (and ensuing controversies) of her single, “Lookin A** N***a,” Nicki Minaj is gearing up to drop her heavily anticipated third studio album The Pink Print (a la Jay Z’s The Blueprint).

While her previous two albums, Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, were successful, when Nicki took a decidedly more pop-friendly approach on them, many fans who first got to know the Jamaica Queens, New York rapper through her mixtapes cried foul. This time around Nicki plans to get back to basics and “focus on rap” she says.

During a recent interview with DJ Drama, the “Beez In The Trap” rapper said that she is trying to make a classic.

“What’s next is just a classic album. That’s all I can think about right now,” said Minaj. “When it’s all said and done, none of [Fashion Week events] matters to me more than creating a classic album right now.”

The Pink Print is scheduled to be released later this year.
