Another “Stand Your Ground” killing has occurred, this one in a Walmart parking lot near Phoenix. It involved a white shooter and a Navajo victim, or according to police reports, the shooter was the victim.
Clyde Wayne Quadlin, 25, got into an altercation with Kriston Charles Belinte Chee, 36. The argument was caught on store surveillance cameras, became so heated that a fist fight occurred. Chee was, according to Quadlin “winning the fight” so he became fearful for his life. That’s when he pulled out his weapon and gunned Chee down.
Just like Michael Dunn in Florida, Quadlin did not wait for police. Instead, he fled the scene and went to a family member’s house. It was that family member that called police to let them know where Quadlin was located.
Police did not book Quadlin for the shooting, determining on the spot that it was self-defense.
“Just like what the guy said, he was not winning, it’s going to come down to what the witnesses have to say,” said police spokesman Joe Favazzo.
The Chandler, Arizona, police will now submit their investigation to the Maricopa County District Attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed.
Once again Stand Your Ground has given people a license to kill.
