Kanye West and Kim Kardashian finally plan to tie the knot this spring, but according to a new report, don’t expect West’s best bud Jay Z to be there — at least not if the reality TV cameras will be there as well.
According to reports from publications like U.K.’s The Daily Star, sources claim that West asked Jay to be his best man for the wedding, which will happen on May 24. Unfortunately for West, Jay Z allegedly declined to be a part of the wedding because Kim is willing to have their wedding aired on TV.
“Jay is Kanye’s closest friend so he wants him to be best man,” said a source close to the Kardashians. “Jay agreed initially but had one condition — under no circumstances can there be any reality TV shows filming him, his wife Beyoncé or daughter Blue Ivy during the ceremony.”
The source claims that Beyoncé isn’t happy with the idea of being on camera either.
“The thought of popping up in ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ mortifies Beyoncé,” the source claimed. “She purposefully keeps herself away from trashy TV and isn’t prepared to lower her standards for anyone, or any occasion.”
Sources say “Bosses at E! are desperate to get the nuptials on air, and will pay millions to make it happen.”
With that being the case, the chances of Jay being in the wedding are now sounding slim. But we’ll all just have to wait and see how things play out.
