An athlete from Argentina has died after she injected a fatal dose of Vaseline into her breasts in order to boost her bust.
Amateur runner Sonia Perez Llanzon, 39, reportedly suffered a fatal blood clot in her lung several weeks after carrying out the dangerous DIY procedure.
Local media reports that she started enduring breathing problems and was rushed to Lucio Molas Hospital in Santa Rosa.
According to the media reports, Llanzon initially denied the gave herself the injections.
Despite having injuries on her breasts, she initially denied any knowledge of what had happened.
After repeated questioning about the source of the scars on her breasts, Llanzon finally succumbed to the pressure and fear and admitted that she injected the foreign solution into her breasts, said head of surgery Julio Pla.
“I’ve never seen a case like this. The human body has antibodies to remove bacteria and viruses, but it hasn’t got any mechanisms against this type of product,” Pla explained to La Capital.
“Other people using Vaseline like this are putting themselves in danger,” he added.
Her police cadet son, Kevin Berazategui, 20, reportedly wrote on his Facebook page: “I will love you forever. The 20 years I spent by your side were beautiful.”
