The on-again-off again marriage of rapper Ma$e appears to be heading towards divorce, according to a report regarding he and his wife. Their status as a couple has been up in the air for months, but according to TMZ, the former Bad Boy star and his wife Twyla have officially filed for divorce. Ma$e, birth name Mason Betha, initially filed for divorce in January, but later dropped the case. His wife reportedly filed for a legal separation in San Diego, resulting in Ma$e refiling for divorce.
According to court documents, the couple have been separated since May of 2012. Incidentally, they began releasing a series of successful marriage counseling books around the same time; a series called What Do You Do After ‘I Do?’ Both parties are reportedly filing for physical custody of their children and Twyla is apparently seeking spousal and child support as well.
Ma$e rose to fame in the late 1990s as a star on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment record label before leaving his hip-hop career to go into ministry. Over the past 15 years, he’s flirted with resuming his career as a rapper. Last year, some of the members of his El Elyon International Church complained about his return to rapping.
Despite the criticism from his church and his ongoing marital problems, Ma$e is reportedly prepping a new album called Now We Even.
