He lost his 19-year-old son, Adam Weisenberger, in 2002 after he was struck and killed by a car. Adam was a volunteer firefighter responding to an accident. A road was eventually named after Adam.

He served as emergency management operations director for Madison County, Mississippi, during the early 2000s.


In 2011, he replaced retiring Judge Cindy B. Alford by winning the District 3 election for Madison County Justice Court.
