Despite being two of the biggest breakout stars of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi Burruss and NeNe Leakes have never seen eye to eye and they’ve often waged verbal wars with each other over money, songs, friendships and anything else that two reality TV stars can argue about. And though Leakes often claims that she is the big ratings draw of the “RHOA” franchise, which is hard to argue against, Burruss proved that she’s got just as much viewership might when her new wedding spinoff, “Kandi’s Wedding,” drew in more season premiere ratings than Leakes’ spinoff.
According to E! Online, episode one of “Kandi’s Wedding” drew in 2.6 million viewers, with 1.2 million of those viewers in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
As it stands, Burruss has now topped both Leakes’ and fellow “RHOA” star Kim Zolciak’s spinoffs in initial ratings. In 2012, Zolciak’s “Don’t Be Tardy” drew in 1.39 million viewers and 691,000 in the coveted demographic. Last year, Leakes’ “I Dream of NeNe” wedding special attracted 1.6 million viewers and 740,000 in the demographic.
And Burruss wasted no time celebrating her new hit show, thanking her millions of fans via Instagram for tuning in to watch.
Congratulations to Burruss for adding another big hit to her belt. –nicholas robinson
