A woman searching for love went on a first date that ended with her being buried alive. According to reports by the NY Post, Mina El Houari, 25, of France began an online relationship with a man from Morocco.
After months of communicating with the man online, El Houari decided to catch a flight from France to Morocco to meet her suitor. She eventually traveled to the man’s home where the two began talking.
El Houari collapsed during their conversation. The man, who has yet to be identified, told authorities that he panicked because he thought she died. He dug a whole in his garden and buried the woman alive.
For weeks, the man didn’t tell anyone about El Houari and her family became suspicious. They flew to Morocco and pressured police into questioning the man. Police went to the man’s home and discovered the woman’s buried body.
El Houari was diabetic and likely collapsed due to health issues. While in the makeshift grave, she suffocated to death.
The man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
