JBL by HARMAN’s “Motion, Sound & Light” Exhibition featured the roll out of the latest line of high-end electronics and audio products from JBL, as well as a workout with some celebs. Scott Disick of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith and recording artist Cassie were all on hand at the Metropolitian Pavilion in Chelsea for the event, as attendees got to experience the latest in audio technology courtesy of JBL’s new line of headphones.
Celebrity trainer, Noah Nieman put the stars through the ropes, all in front of the crowd, for four hours of weight-lifting, training, and high-impact workouts. Legendary Bomb Squad producer Hank Shocklee, and singer-songwriter Mayer Hawthorne were among those taking in the sights and sounds.
The event was a chance for attendees to gain hands-on exposure to the brand’s new family of wireless headphones, and an opportunity to mingle with celebrities and culture influencers, receiving the ultimate sensory experience focused on motion, sound & light.
“I’ve always been a fan of JBL sonically,” said Hawthorne. “I mixed my first album on JBL speakers. I’ve always been a fan of their frequency curve. I think their [products] have some of the most enjoyable sound.”
Hawthorne says that most other headphone brands specialize in either clarity or quality-of-sound; but JBL does both well.
“On one hand, you have [companies that get] the very true sound — you’re hearing exactly what’s there,” he explained. “It’s accurate but not enjoyable to listen to. On the other end, you have companies that make everything sound great. I don’t like that, either, because it fools you into thinking that it sounds good. I think JBL does a great job of both — it’s accurate but enjoyable to listen to.”
