Angie Martinez rocked New York City radio last month when she announced her departure from her broadcast home of 15 years, Hot 97. Then, a day later, it was revealed that Martinez had taken her talents to Hot 97’s biggest rival, Power 105.1. Now, it is being reported that Martinez is going to make double the amount of her Hot 97 salary at her new radio home.

Page Six reports that Power 105.1’s parent company, Clear Channel, is expected to pay Martinez a salary in the “high six figures.” She is scheduled to host two four-hour shows that will be air in New York and Miami. She hosted the “Afternoon Drive” with DJ Enuff on Hot 97.

“It was time for me to grow and to do things,” Angie told “The Breakfast Club” last month shortly after her move. “I’m sure you all know, this company offers so much opportunity for growth. I want to be on in different cities. I want to be able to grow. I want to be able to have new challenges and see new things. I want to know how this studio works. And it was time. I’ve done what I can do in that company. I think my friendships remain.”
