Bevy Smith has been closely linked to the gay community ever since she joined the cast of Bravo’s “Fashion Queens,” alongside black gay reality stars Miss Lawrence and Derek J. But Smith’s loyalty in the gay community came into question this past week after she sent out a questionable tweet to her gay fans.
Earlier this week, Smith tweeted that she found it difficult to understand her young, gay male fans when they greeted her.
After receiving a firestorm of backlash from her gay fan base, Smith tweeted out an apology and cited her many works with LGBT organizations that she is an ally.
Well, we don’t think that Smith meant any harm with her tweet, but considering all of her work with the LGBT community, she might want to learn and embrace the lingo and culture of her fans. – nicholas robinson
