Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon, Kysha Cameron to speak at Women on the MOVE Summit

Kim McNair

According to Kim McNair, creator of the Women on the MOVE Summit, there’s a difference between having dreams and making them happen. And, we all need certain tools in order to pursue our goals. Everyone can use some help along the way. That’s why she’s invited leaders in our community, business owners, and entrepreneurs to participate in an upcoming leadership summit that will offer new tools to develop as a successful business owner and/or leader in the business arena.

The summit will provide attendees with diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop their personal and professional brand, and to learn leadership principles and marketing strategies to aid them in their journeys to build their businesses.

With so many events going on in Atlanta, why did they decide to do this type of event?
Women are a principal force behind one of the most important component of America’s current marketplace and our future economy. Women of color are the majority owners of close to one third of all women owned firms in the nation. Noted in Empower magazine there has been remarkable growth in the number of women of color business owners and this will increase as the population grows. Stats from 1997-2013 shows female owned firms in the US grew by 59 percent which is one and a half times the national average. These stats prove [women] are on the move.

What sets this event apart?
Our goal to make sure we engage each person who attends and expose them to new tools on doing business.

Why did they choose this group of ladies to speak?
Because these ladies are CEOs, entrepreneurs, small business owners and/or leaders in their companies and/or professions. They are holding it down every day and very successfully. They know their brand and their niche. When it comes to personal and professional development and leadership they all have it.

Who typically attends this type of event?
Entrepreneurs, small-business owners, executives and people who need tools to get their business started.

What type of woman is she?
She’s focused on her business or career goals and learning how to leverage relationships and opportunities to achieve them. [She’s] not afraid to take the leap of faith and step into her destiny.
