Can Apollo Nida get out of prison early with rehab?

Apollo Nida may be going to jail for eight years for his criminal involvement in bank, wire, mail fraud and ID theft, but “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” husband has already been working overtime to ensure an early release date for himself. And, according to a new report, Nida might just get it if he goes to rehab.

As previously reported, Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to pay back $1.9 million dollars of the more than $2 million that he stole during his four years of money laundering.

But Nida also agreed to undergo 500 hours in an “intense” drug treatment during his prison sentence. Oddly enough, Nida reportedly doesn’t suffer from any substance addictions, but law enforcement sources claim that Nida used a previous DUI arrest as a way to get into the program. Most inmates who complete the rehab program get early release dates and Nida is reportedly hoping that he can reduce his sentence as well by completing the program.

Unfortunately, as Nida professed last week, his marriage with Phaedra Parks likely won’t survive even if he does get out of prison early. And he’s still going to be swamped with nearly $2 million in debt. But it’s still quite the clever plan of action to ensure an early release. Hopefully, when he’s out, he’ll put that brain to good use instead of criminal activity. – nicholas robinson
