Remy Ma has only 10 days left to serve before she comes home after serving eight years. Remy was convicted of assault for the 2007 shooting of her former friend Makeeba Barnes-Joseph. The incarcerated former Terror Squad member called into Angie Martinez’s radio show and spoke about her future; and revealed that she did not expect her husband, fellow rapper Papoose, to be as committed to her as he’s been during her time behind bars.
“Absolutely not,” Remy Ma said. “I’m still shocked … the fact that he’s official. He’s an official dude, really. Like, nobody can ever front on that. He held it down better than some of my best friends that I grew up with and … family members. He’s official.”
Remy spoke about Nicki Minaj as well. She stated that she and the Young Money starlet have always had a good relationship.
“Nick has always been a supporter and vice versa,” Remy explained. “I like what she does. She’s done wonderful things for females, but I just wish there was more of them. I don’t know what they’re doing; they’re letting these guys take over.”
Remy Ma also revealed that she and her former mentor, Fat Joe, mended their fractured relationship.
“That was one of my epiphanies that I had,” she explained. “It was a really really good conversation. At the end of the day, I could never hate him … as much as I’ll be like, ‘He gets on my nerves go away,’ I’ll never feel like that. And he did do a lot to me. Even though [Big] Pun was the one that I met and he introduced me to Steve Rifkind and Loud Records and all of that, I had a lot of great moments with Joe, and I respect that.”
