Update: Police lied about shooting black father at Wal-Mart

Video footage of a black man being shot by police contradicts officer’s initial report. According to The Raw Report, John Crawford, 22, was shot in the back while leaning on a BB gun and talking on a cellphone at a Wal-Mart in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Ohio’s attorney general allowed Crawford’s family attorney to view the surveillance video from the store. Initially, police said Crawford was waving the gun around and would not put it down when they opened fire.

However, the videotape proves that Crawford was casually standing with the toy gun and using it as a makeshift cane while talking to his girlfriend on the phone.

Crawford was racially profiled by a white couple who followed him in the store. Instead of notifying store managers, who could have verified that the gun was a toy, the nosy couple called police.

The police also racially profiled Crawford by shooting him first without asking questions.

One cop who was involved in the shooting, David Darkow, has resumed his duties and has yet to be reprimanded. The other officer, Sean Williams, is on administrative leave.

A grand jury will hear the case on Sept 22. Crawford’s family has asked the U.S. Department of Justice to open a civil rights investigation.

Now is the time for Black people to take this into our own hands. Not with physical violence, but with cold-hearted economic and financial violence. Do not harm a single hair on their heads. Instead annihilate their wallets. If we still have it in us as a people- I propose the following be actions when we are killed like dogs in the street:

    1. Pick a major business and announce a boycott within 15 days unless they publicly support the arrest of those officers involved
    2. After 15 days with no public support – institute the boycott nationally(if appropriate) against the business
    3. Do not support any Blacks or their organizations who speak in support of the police or speak against the business boycott.

In case you are are wondering, it does not matter if the business has anything to do with the crime. We need to treat them all as a single group. If we impact their money – they will force the police to chill out.

This is the best well thought out boycott I have seen. I completely agree with this ready to put it in action.

Thank you sister. We cannot fight this with force/might. We have to fight this financially. It is the only true power we have as a people in this country. We have to withhold our dollar from those companies who allow us to be disrespected and physically harmed.

Has Wal-Mart even spoken about this? Why are still supporting them? Silence is consent. Can Blacks stop shopping at Wal-Mart for the rest of the year, or do we like to keep financing our own oppression?

Wal-Mart didn’t shoot him, the cops did. And your “boycott” nonsense is not gonna work.

this case was worst than brown case , i mean why would they shoot this man if his back is turned and he is on the cell phone .. just racist , and i guarantee you they will try to shove it under the rug and pay the family under the table so they will go away and make them sign a waiver that they will not prosecute or seek farther compensation for this sinceless crime … this one incident answers all the questions we have about how profiling works once a police has seen a black man with a gun .. he deserve to be shot down like a deer …its a shame we are no more to t them than prey… this has to stop

Everybody must take a stand against police brutality, police profiling, etc.!

I don’t shop at Walmart anyways so I have no problems boycotting them.

The couple that followed this kid around and called the cops claiming he was waving around a gun need to be arrested and prosecuted for making a false 911 call as well.
